Young gun from Toorbul Caravan Park scoops 2022 Young Achiever of the Year at Industry Award

Toorbul Caravan Park manager, Tiarna-Lee Mackie has been recognised for her incredible contribution, being awarded the The Simon Warner Young Achiever of the Year Award at the 2022 Caravan Park Association of Queensland awards night.

This award recognises a young person from within the industry who is making an impact in their business and in many cases, the industry. Tiarna is one of the younger leaders within 1EIGHT Parks portfolio. She joined the team initially to manage 1EIGHT's centralised Guest Centre - a response to managing guest relations and significantly higher call volumes during the COVID-19 pandemic. Tiarna's ability to address concerns and support guests during a challenging period, combined with her high work ethic set her apart. She then took on an operational coordinator role for 1EIGHT Parks before being appointed as the Park Manager for Toorbul Caravan Park where she leads a highly engaged team and demonstrates maturity and compassion beyond her years. Tiarna has continued to work extremely hard to develop her knowledge and leadership skills. She is an excellent role model for young leaders in the industry.

Their son, Simon was taken prematurely while working in the family’s caravan park in North Rockhampton in February 2002. He was awarded the first Young Achiever Award posthumously. Tiarna is the 21st young achiever to have been recognised for having a bright future in the industry.
